Sell your home more easily by preparing in advance
Selling your home is exciting, nerve-wracking, and stressful. If you want your home to sell for the most money, show why people should buy your home. Demonstrate why your home is the best possible house for potential buyers.
Make sure it looks good from the outside
If the inside of your home looks fantastic, but the outside doesn’t, your ideal buyer may not ever walk inside. Make sure the outside looks the best it can by keeping your yard maintained. Keep the lawn mowed, trees trimmed, and weeds pulled. If your front door needs a refresh, consider purchasing a new front door so you can pull in the people interested in buying.
Making sure your windows are sparkling will encourage people to check out the outside space, even if it’s a park across the street or a postage stamp sized deck.
A fresh coat of paint goes a long way. Painting with a neutral paint makes your home look fresh and clean. Paint can make your home memorable in the eyes of a home shopper, so don’t make them remember your fuchsia bedroom.
Your home should be impeccable when you go to sell it if you want to get the most money from the sale. Dust, sweep and vacuum regularly in order to showcase your home.
Clean your kitchen by clearing off the counters. Not only will this look better, but it will also make your kitchen look larger.
Tidy your closets by getting rid of some of the clothes that you no longer wear or that are seasonal (and not used in the current season). Make sure everything is hung up and looking tidy.
Your bathrooms should be immaculate. Get rid of any mold, mildew, or rust stains, and declutter the counters. Buy a nice shower curtain to brighten up the bathroom.

Get rid of extra stuff
Decluttering is one of the best things you can do to sell your home since it will look bigger and cleaner with less clutter. A room with one less piece of furniture will look larger.
Consider renting a storage unit
If you have tons of stuff and you can’t pack it all away in the basement or garage, consider renting a storage unit. Your home will look bigger if you have less stuff in it, and you will make packing easier if you do some of it in advance.
Make it less personal
Make it easier to sell your home by taking down some of your personal effects. Potential home buyers need to be able to imagine themselves living in your home, and they can’t when your personal effects are all over the house. They need to be able to see their photos on the wall instead of yours, and their trinkets set out rather than your figurines.
Take your kids artwork off of the fridge.
Do minor repairs
Fix anything that you can, such as broken cupboards, broken locks, holes in the wall, and re-grout your tiles. Everything that you can do to make your home look well-maintained will help to sell it.
If your home looks like nobody lives there, you are probably on the right track. Spending a bit of time decluttering and cleaning your home will pay off in a higher selling price and quicker home sale. Make it easier to sell your home by spending time and a little money.
